Emmy winning editor and founder of #PostChat Jesse Averna Keynote at the MMB in 2015.

The International Media Users Group (IMUG) MediaMotion Ball organizing team is proud to announce that Emmy-award winning editor Jesse Averna will be the keynote speaker at the 18th annual MediaMotion Ball. Jesse is a four time Emmy winning Editor, Affiliate Member of ACE, and a rabid Star Wars fan.

Averna's most recent work has been as the Series Editor for Sesame Street for the last six seasons. Jesse teaches FCPX and Avid at the School of Visual Arts. Recently, he directed a new children's series Monica's Mixing Bowl and is in active development on his own film. You can also catch Jesse leading a weekly chat for Post Professionals every Wednesday night on Twitter called #PostChat. When Averna is not engaged in any of the above or spending time with his family, he is also currently editing recap promo's for SyFy's 12 Monkeys and cutting a documentary. Basically, he's a workaholic insomniac with a love for his daughter, Post Production, monsters and droids.

"I am tremendously excited to have Jesse present this year" said Carey Dissmore, IMUG Founder. "Jesse is a multi-talented editor and director and brings a really unique perspective on the business. Further, he has demonstrated that he really 'gets it' when it comes to fostering community amongst production professionals."

The MediaMotion Ball is the premier event for post production, motion graphics, 3D artists and anyone in the production field attending NAB. Always held on Monday of NAB week, the MediaMotion Ball is now in it's 18th year. In addition, over $50,000 in prizes from sponsors like AJA, Maxon, Blackmagic Design, Flanders Scientific, RealFlow, Video Copilot, Atomos, Red Giant, Pond 5, aescripts + aeplugins, G-Tech and many more will be featured in the "Famous MMB Prize Draw".

Doors to the MediaMotion Ball open at 5:30pm for cocktails and mingling. Presentations begin about 6:50pm. Dinner is served about 7:20pm. Door Prizes are drawn throughout the evening.

The IMUG began with its first NAB events in 1998, with the goal of fostering face-to-face interactions amongst the members of our online community. While our community's activity is now spans across social media, forums and blogs, The media-motion.tv mailing lists remain the anchor of this community. Every day, our 3000+ members interact on subjects of video production, post production, motion graphics, compression and sound business strategy. Always held on NAB Monday, the MediaMotion Ball is now in it's 18th year. The MediaMotion Ball has grown in both size and reach and is one of the premier user events in the NAB landscape. Everyone involved with the MMB is a volunteer and it is run as a not-for-profit event.

Anyone who works in the fields of production, post production or motion graphics design is welcome! The MMB typically sells out well in advance, but as of this posting tickets are still available at the advance price of $55 USD.

You can follow Jesse Averna's ever updating reel and see what else he is working on, including his own film, here: www.iCutFilm.com and you can chat with him every Wednesday night on Twitter for #PostChat. Or you can bug him anytime on Twitter here: @dr0id.
